Information about Lydia

As an inquisitive and academic individual, I was drawn to teaching during my degree as means of passing on knowledge and skills to young people. I graduated from Cambridge in 2016 having obtained a 2:1 in Law and have worked as a tutor with Oxbridge Applications, Dukes Education and Pembroke Tutors, teaching entrance exam technique, English, Maths, Science and Law.

I am a committed horse rider and long distance runner, having represented my college at University level polo and completed numerous 5k and 10k charity runs. My passion for competing and my energy equip me well to inspire young people to endeavour to achieve fantastic grades and learn more about new subjects.

Experience: My tutoring experience ranges widely. I have taught English lessons to children aged 8-14 and have had great success in giving support to Oxbridge candidates in mock interviews as well as providing support with verbal and non-verbal tests for common entrance exams, local grammar school entrance and private schools such as Sevenoaks.

I have spent the past year providing one-to-one tutoring support for a candidate applying to Cambridge for Law. This support has comprised of Skype sessions, mock interviews and assessment centres to equip the candidate with the skills and knowledge required for the application and interview process. So far, I have had 100% of my students review me as "outstanding" with considerable success rates in getting candidates into private schools in London and Oxbridge.

I was most concerned to teach in developing areas of the world and have taught English in Argentina and India. I contacted an organisation who put me in touch with a school in Cordoba, Argentina, where I taught English for a month. I created my own lesson plans and was able to engage the children by making cultural references and employing visual learning methods.
