Experience: Hi! My name is Luca, I am from Tenerife (Spain) and I am a Spanish and Primary school teacher

Now, I work as a Spanish teacher and Spanish Subject Lead at St Mary`s Primary School in England. I have experience teaching Spanish for GCSE and A Level. Furthermore, I teach adults to certify the Spanish Language in different types of certificates, such as DELE, from beginner (A1) to proficiency level (C2).

While studying Primary Education at my home university (University of La Laguna,
Tenerife, Spain), I was in touch with young students from the very beginning. For example, I
was able to join a program to help primary students with disabilities in one of the most
prestigious schools in Tenerife (Spain). After my undergraduate years, I enrolled in the
Master in Quality and Improvement of Education with a scholarship, specializing in “Quality
in Measures of Attention to Diversity” at “Universidad Autónoma de Madrid”.

Regarding my labour experience, I worked as a Training Teacher in Fernando III School
(Tenerife) and Nuryana School (Tenerife), learning and collaborating about teaching in the
work of early childhood and primary Teacher. Moreover, during my months in La Purísima
School in Madrid (as a teacher of Y2 primary school), I learned about special education in
children with special needs: autism, ADHD, and Down syndrome.


During the last years, I worked in Madrid in a Summer Camp of linguistic immersion
(English) and as a teacher of extra-curricular English lessons in some schools, learning more
about how to improve student learning and developing my skills in this language which I
want to refine it. I’ve worked as a preschool room leader teacher in Oakmount Crèche in
Dublin (Ireland) since April of 2018. I got experience working with children between 2 and 5
years old in this job. Once I moved to London I worked as a Spanish Teacher in different
Schools (Earlsmead Primary School and St Mary’s COE Primary school) delivering lessons
based on the British Curriculum.

Currently, I am working as a Year 3 teacher and Spanish Subject Lead of the whole school
since September 2019 at St Mary’s COE Primary School. Among the essential
responsibilities of a Y6 Teacher, there are a series of positive obligations fundamental to
fulfilling Y6 students as planning and delivering the teaching plan, ensuring effective
teaching of the whole class or assessing and recording each pupil’s progress systematically
the school’s current practice. On the other hand, as a Spanish Subject Leader, I need to
guarantee the achievement of different responsibilities such as securing medium-term
planning, which meets all National Curriculum requirements; reviewing, monitoring and
evaluating teaching and Learning and the lead example through good classroom practice.
