I am a former Science teacher (Chemistry Specialist), now working for a national UK exam board. I have have taught in secondary schools for 18 years. In my time as a teacher I have taught general science, combined science to GCSE level, GCSE Chemistry and A Level Chemistry (OCR and AQA boards).
Availability: select week nights/Weekends

My son is currently being tutored twice a week for GCSE Science (AQA Trilogy) by Andrew. His lessons are well planned, engaging and he connects meaningfully with my son. Andrew is not only caring and compassionate but also professional, well-organized and extremely knowledgeable. He gives positivity and praise when due and makes my son feel accomplished in his learning. Andrew is extremely patient and offers a flexible approach to learning giving my son the opportunity to think things out for himself which helps to broaden his scientific knowledge. My son rates him very highly as a teacher and enjoys his tutor sessions with Andrew. We would thoroughly recommend Andrew as a science tutor.

Andrew is an excellent tutor who has reignited my son`s love of science. The lessons are fun and very well planned . Andrew is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of the science curriculum. He is always organised, punctual and has a great rapport with my son. He always gives feedback on the session too, which is really helpful . I have no hesitation at all in recommending Andrew. I feel very lucky to have found him to work with my son as he approaches his GCSE year.

My daughter was finding her GCSE Chemistry particularly challenging and we decided help her by taking on Andrew as a private tutor. Andrew was very reliable, interacted well with my daughter and importantly was able to help her achieve a B grade in her exam. The exam attainment was considerably better than that predicted by her school and was exactly what we were hoping our daughter might achieve. I would have no hesitation having Andrew as a private tutor again and would recommend him to any student that is finding his/her Chemistry GSCE a challenge.
