Hello!
I am an undergraduate biology student at University of Nottingham. I was born in Moscow and lived there up until the age of 14, excluding 2 years (age 9-11) spent in London. I have experienced primary and secondary schools in both Russia and UK, and naturalised both cultures. I am fluent in English and have a dual nationality, so no need to worry about language barriers!

Biology
The study of life is my passion, and I am very willing to share my knowledge in this field. I can help with GCSE, AS-, or A-level biology. You can let me know if you are struggling with a specific topic, need help with the subject in general, or just want to pull yourself to the top of the class and prepare for a level beyond - I will adapt to your needs and we`ll create a study plan to achieve your goals together.
In addition to biology-specific knowledge, I am fairly proficient in maths, which is an essential component of all science. I am aware that maths can be intimidating and prevent you from enjoying a subject and achieving your best. I am happy to help you out and explain things in a more accessible way and pace than in the classroom, should you ever need it. I don`t mind repeating explanations, or finding alternative ways to explain something: my aim is to help you, so please don`t be afraid to ask!
At GCSE I achieved a grade 8 in (equivalent to A*) in Biology, and at A-level my grade was an A.

Russian Language
Being a native Russian speaker, I can give language lessons for a wide range of levels: from the very basics to an advanced level.
I tailor my teaching to the person I`m teaching, aiming to balance a challenge with fun. Questions and examples are, without a doubt, vital for understanding and securing new information. In addition to this, as someone who grew up in Russia, I can provide you with context of how certain words and phrases would be used, and give you an insight into the Russian culture. I believe that incorporating humour into the process of learning a language is useful as it helps associate words with concepts on an emotional level, as well as to make learning enjoyable. If you wish to have homework, I am happy to provide it, but it is always up to you.
My grades in GCSE and A-level Russian are both A*s, and I can help you achieve a similar standard if you are studying for one these qualifications.
