Please note: I still offer online tuition, which is as effective as in person tutoring. When I host students in my home, I clean and air the room thoroughly.

I`m a fully qualified English teacher with have over eight years` experience of teaching English at a successful secondary school in Chesterfield, and over twelve years` experience of tutoring individual students and small groups. I have taught the full age range, from 11-year-olds to A-level, throughout my career. As a tutor, I`ve taught 8-year-olds up to adults.

My results are excellent at both GCSE and A-level, and I like to make lessons interesting and challenging. I deliver lessons to students I have taught for a number of years as well as to those seeking extra help in the run up to exams. I also have many hours` experience of tutoring via Skype, both to children based in the UK and abroad.

I work hard to keep my students engaged by presenting topics in a range of ways and by building their confidence through a range of activities. I`ve found that student confidence is the main driver of progress, so I take a supportive and friendly tone in my lessons.

In addition to English, I can offer Maths, Media Studies, Art and Textiles up to GCSE. For other subjects, please ask. For primary aged children, I often do a half hour of English and a half hour of Maths.

I offer one to one tuition in my home or yours, and I am happy to offer different rates for small groups. As well as tailoring lessons to specific subjects and skills, I am happy to go through homework from a range of subjects or do study skills or revision sessions - whatever is most helpful.

I hold a current enhanced DBS certificate which you are welcome to see, and I`m qualified in emergency First Aid.

Availability: I live close to Endcliffe Park in S11 and can host lessons in my own home. I`m a non-smoker and I don`t have any pets, but please let me know about any other allergies to be on the safe side. I have a very clean, comfortable living room where parents can wait during lessons - my TV, WiFi and book shelves are at your disposal.

I am passionate about English, and I particularly enjoy teaching GCSE poetry and looking at texts closely at GCSE, A-Level Literature and A-Level English Language.
