Hi there! My name is Mollie and my teaching style is friendly and approachable and have over 5000 hours of teaching experience! I am very calm and patient and like to make my lessons fun and engaging! Over the years, I have tutored an enormous range of students to exam success - or just to feel more confident in the subjects they are struggling with.

Availability: I am available for home-schooling in the day and evenings.

Experience: I went to the University of Gloucestershire and studied English literature and creative writing and was set to travel to Australia when I graduated in 2020, however, the pandemic affected this! I decided I wanted to teach English as a foreign language so completed a TEFL (teaching English foreign language) qualification with 168 hours. I then decided to open up my after-school availability in which I began teaching year 6 SATS for English as well as Secondary school GCSE classes. I have been teaching ever since and adore it and have over 5000 hours teaching experience now!

Teaching and tutoring experience;

The University of Gloucestershire - September - July 2020

When I was completing my degree in English language and creative writing I supported lots of my fellow peers by helping them with proof-reading and tutoring them. Some things that I tutored include elements of a story, feminism in post-colonialism society, digital culture and advanced prose.

American English and Art Academy of Shanghai - May 2021 - present

I have been teaching Chinese students for several years now, I teach topics including THINK, UNLOCK, EPIC reading and KET preparation for their exams. I have learnt various skills teaching online including how to use different materials and resources including videos to keep the students interested and ready to learn! I always make sure I am approachable and have a big smile on my face! I have had many good reviews from the feedback about my classes.

Self-employed Private English Tutor (May 2021 - Present)

I teach students from all around the world including Poland, Iran, Egypt and Brazil, I transfer my skills from my other teaching job as I teach both children and adults with low levels of English. Preparation is an essential part of my job as each student has different needs, preferable teaching styles and different proficiency levels. In my lessons, student talking time is another important part of teaching as this allows the students to work things out themselves.

In the past few years, I have also begun to tutor older children as part of my self-employed tutoring at the GCSE level. I focus on the UK school curriculum and cater my lessons around the EDEXCEL/AQA syllabus and more. This involves going through exam questions, preparing PowerPoints, proofreading homework checking for grammar issues and applying it to the official mark schemes.
