Iona

Ex- Principal of the National Youth Orchestra of Great Britain, meet Iona . An encouraging and experienced teacher in both the harp and piano, Iona has recently moved her lessons onto virtual platforms during the global pandemic. Graduating from Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in 2021, Iona offers a reduced rate for a top level of learning.

Availability: Moving lessons onto skype, Iona is happy and keen to set up a regular weekly slot.

Experience: Iona has taught music lessons on both the piano and harp for several years. Aged 21, she is able to communicate well with younger students who are keen to unravel the mysteries of the beautiful instrument, the harp. Dedicated to her students, Iona has seen many successes through both ABRSM and TCL examinations, teaching all levels from beginners to grade 8. As a performer, Iona grew up as principal harpist of the Bromley Youth Symphony Orchestra where she won the Norman Trotman soloist prize 2016-17. Iona soon after played for two years with the NYOGB, performing live on the BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Having studied at London`s renowned BRIT School for Performing Arts, Iona has a diverse understanding of all genres of study, including jazz and popular music. Iona has a huge passion for musical theatre as has played in two West End production runs of the LMTO`s `A Christmas Carol` at the Lyceum and `Ragtime The Musical` at London`s Bridewell. Iona also played during the 2019 season as resident harpist at the Royal Horseguards Hotel.
