Information about Andrew
I recently retired after 35 years teaching GCSE, A level and IB Mathematics. I have taught in several schools and colleges within Devon. In 2019 I marked the Edexcel A level paper as an Expert Examiner and have been re-appointed for this year. I enjoy teaching and supporting students through these important examinations. I am willing to travel to students` homes or have students visit me. I have a BSc and MSc and a very old PGCE. I have a recent CRB certificate. I have lived in TQ2 for many years, close to the hospital.
I have three "mature" children, all under 30. Two are Chartered Accountants whilst the youngest is a dental student at Sheffield University. I now go to the gym regularly and play pitch and putt when it`s warm. I currently support homework on Wednesday evenings with students from my old boarding school. These students are studying for GCSE, A level or IB qualifications. I enjoy teaching Mathematics and fully understand that it is not easy, but can be extremely important for students to obtain high grades
For sessions which start before 1st November, I charge £40 per hour or £50 for 90 mins if the journey to your home is very short. Otherwise, we can negotiate. A level sessions need to be of length 90 mins to be long enough to cover topics in depth.
I am willing to offer the first lesson free if it occurs before the end of November in Year 13, but not if tuition starts in the busy run-up to the exams.
Availability: By negotiation
Willing to travel: 30 miles
