Information about Sasha

My name is Sasha and I am a final year student at King`s College London dental school. I completed my A-levels in 2011 achieving A*A*A.
I am a very friendly and approachable tutor who really enjoys teaching. I enjoy cycling, reading and meeting new people.

Tutoring Approach:
From my experience, I understand that every child learns in a different way and at different pace, so I aim to tailor my style depending on the child.

However, my lessons will be based on the syllabus (and beyond-depending on the student/parent preference). Being a student myself I can relate to young learners I understand while they may know a lot about a certain topic, they might not be able to apply themselves to answer the question in an exam, therefore, I always aim to include exam technique/questions in my lessons. The younger children I teach have shorter attention spans and find it more difficult for them to grasp new concepts and ideas, so I try to incorporate games, quizes and challenges in my lessons.

-Depending on the tutoring requirements, I can provide long term lesson plans covering the whole syllabus thoroughly, or revision lessons focussing on more important points for the exam.

-Before each lesson I like to test my students on previous topics, the test will be 5-10 minutes long consisting of 5 questions differing in difficulty. This is for me to know what the student does/does not understand, and for the student to reinforce any information.

Finally, I will help students organise revision notes that are styled to answer exam questions and will provide homework after each lesson.

Availability: Weekdays and weekends

Willing to travel: 20 miles

Experience: [2012- current] I am currently private tutoring two students at GCSE and KS3 level.I am teaching Math for the KS3 student and all subjects for my GCSE student.

[2009 - 2012] Prior to private tutoring I worked abroad as a classroom assistant at Little Feet summer school. I enjoy teaching younger children (5-11years old) and giving a fun learning environment for them, where they feel no pressure to please me but simply enjoy the rewarding feeling of getting an answer right.

Achieving great results in my A-levels as well as the nature of my degree, I feel that I have a great depth of knowledge and understanding in science (particularly biology) so I am also able to tutor Biology and Chemistry for Alevel students.

[2013 - current ] I also have experience with university applications and UCAS and am currently a volunteer at the K+ program for underprivileged teenagers giving them advice and help they need for applying to university.
