Information about Maria Teresa

An internationally exhibiting artist and qualified art teacher, I tutor in Drawing and Painting. With a MA Distinction from The Slade School of Fine Art (UCL) and a BA Honours from Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan, I combine traditional training with contemporary experimentations. My teaching relies on wide knowledge of materials, a variety of techniques and approaches to pictorial genres, colour theory and human anatomy, elements of printmaking, installation, sculpture and the expanded field of drawing and painting. I also have up to date knowledge of the use of digital media and photography in the fine arts.

As an artist I have experience working with galleries, public commissions and taking part in academic research, currently as a King`s Artist in residence at Kings College London. My work has been awarded several prizes and bursaries. I am a friendly, enthusiastic artist educator and teacher and am passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences through the arts and empowering others to master new skills and find personal expression. I currently teach summer school short courses at The Slade School of Fine Art, UCL and Life Drawing courses at the Learning and Enterprise College Bexley, as well as providing tailored one-to-one tuition.
