I am a graduate in Chemistry and Physics and a qualified, experienced teacher. I have a PGCE and hold a current clear DBS certificate.

I think my main strengths are in being able to build rapport and in being able to explain concepts to enable students to understand what they are working on. The confidence in the subject gained by students can then be applied to whatever Examination Board`s syllabus they are being examined in. Helping a student to learn their subject puts the foundation in place for success in exams.

Experience: My career started in secondary schools, teaching science at all levels including GCSE and `A` level in both Chemistry and Physics.
I left teaching after 8 years (in 1995) and pursued work with adults. My work with adults was varied but included youth work support and training, and devising workshops in the area of Christian spirituality. I qualified as a youth worker in 2003. Further career changes led to me working with the unemployed and delivering courses in Employability in 2010.
I returned to formal education in 2014. In the following five years I delivered GCSE maths, level 1 Science, level 2 science units, level 3 courses for the BTEC Extended Diploma in Applied Science and Access to HE Chemistry (but not all in the same year!) In the past year I have also operated as a private tutor and really enjoyed the more targeted teaching and learning that can take place one to one.
