Information about Marla

Diligent and enthusiastic undergraduate chemist with a love of teaching and empowering students to achieve their full academic potential. I`m in my final year at the[contact detail removed], on track for a 1st in BSc Chemistry, whilst also working as a session musician. My aim ultimately is to pursue a career in the chemical industry, initially in analytical chemistry, before moving into forensics or pharmaceuticals!

I`m very well-rounded. As well as being a professional musician - frequently playing gigs in the UK and abroad - I`m a fluent French speaker as I am Congolese!

Availability: My availability varies so we can discuss times :)

Willing to travel: 2 miles

Experience: I tutored year 12 students in AS-Level Maths and Chemistry when I was in year 13. I helped one student get from an E to a C after having only two sessions with her.

Under my tutelage, another student (predicted a D) obtained a B in A-Level Chemistry and actually decided to study it at university, which made me very proud!

My approach is to gauge what the student is struggling with and plan sessions based on that, honing in on specific areas rather than teaching general topics.
