Hi! I`m Maddy and I am a recent graduate (BA in Geography) at the University of Oxford. I was awarded a college academic scholarship for my continuous, outstanding academic achievement and hard work. I look forward to sharing my passion, skills and knowledge with you!
I am a smiley and outgoing person, passionate about helping others reach their academic and personal potential. As an experienced tutor, I look forward to guiding you through whatever academic hurdle you might be facing.
My academic background:
-For undergraduate degree I applied to Oxford, Durham, LSE, Exeter and Cardiff and recieved offers for all of them.
-For A-Levels I studied Geography (A*), English Literature (A*), Spanish (D2 = A*), and I also took History AS level (A)
-I achieved 6* and 4 As at GCSE.
My teaching experience:
-Personal statements: Geography, English Lit & Creative Writing, Biomed, History
-A-Level: Geography, English Literature
-GCSE: Geography and English (Lit&Lang)
-Pre-GCSE: I have helped numerous children aged 4-13 with reading, writing and speaking across all key subjects.
In total, I have over 250+ lessons worth of experience under my belt, and have enabled my students of all academic backgrounds reach and exceed their aspirations.
Availability: For now, I am only available to help mark essays, courseworks, assignments, personal statements and Oxbridge interview prep etc.

Experience: I have been tutoring for over 4 years now, working with a range of students of all ages (4-17), levels of ability, and educational needs. In particular I have enjoyed mentoring my clients throughout their KS2 SATS, GCSE`s, A-Levels, and university entrance exams. Moreover, I have supported multiple students throughout their entire application process for university, particularly Oxbridge.
I have a particularly strong eye for detail and enjoy marking and providing feedback regarding personal statements, coursework and homework.
I have mentored several students throughout the Oxbridge process, equipping them with unique and knowledgeable insights, as well as helping them to be confident and competent at Interview. Three of my students are now current undergraduates at Oxford University.
I have helped mentor several students throughout their UCAS applications - all of my Russell Group clients have achieved their First Choice university.
I am a smiley, enthusiastic and conscientious tutor/mentor with a proven ability to quickly identify the areas where my clients need help. Every session I run aims to be fun, challenging and rewarding, with the ultimate goal of helping students to reach their potential.
In each session, homework will be set. All lesson agendas, resources, marked homework pieces will be made readily available for students and their parents. I use Zoom and Google Drive to complete my lessons.

Maddy has been an excellence tutor for my daughter in Year 12 Geography. She is very organized and enthusiastic in her teaching. Her lessons are extremely well planned and interesting. Maddy is very clear and detailed in her explanation and has helped my daughter further expand her geographical knowledge. She sets homework and gives useful and detailed feedback in ways to improve. I would highly recommend Maddy as a tutor.

With Madeleine my daughter had three Geography lessons. During those lessons Madeleine provided clear lesson plans and reports. She was punctual and encouraged my daughter to give her input too. I wish Maddy best of luck for her future ambitions.

really good sessions! plans lessons and has perfect timing through the lessons. she uses google drive to organise lessons and tell me what to do. she puts lessons plans and Reviews homework all on Goodge drive. Lessons and the way we review what we have done is great. using zoom and the white board on zoom to do questions and talk through the work. 10/10

Maddy has been providing online tuition in English and Geography (GCSE) to my daughter (Year 10). The quality of lessons is exceptional and the planning and delivery very clear and detailed. The lesson plans and post lesson write ups are extremely detailed and clear and this helps with the follow up and ability to sink the subject matter in further with my daughter. This is already paying dividends and having a two fold impact for my daughter 1) Increased understanding of the subject and the context of it 2) Increased confidence and ability to ask the right questions and believe she can do it! Madeleine is a very strong communicator, reliable, organised and professional at all times. This is shown in the clear communications during initial discussions about the service through to the lessons and follow up - all fantastic, I can`t speak highly enough. Obviously during this lockdown period there are inevitable challenges with normal schooling but Maddy has been an invaluable help - whilst I was a little nervous about online lessons this has been completely unfounded because of Maddy - In fact my daughter is gaining at least as much out of these lessons as she does 1:1 at school.
