I am an experienced teacher and private tutor of Modern Foreign Languages. For the last 35 years I have been teaching French and Spanish, as well as English as a foreign language, to people aged from 5 to 85. My approach is, fundamentally, to address specific needs and to use the most appropriate materials and resources for this - be past exam papers, be DVDs and recordings, be games, flash cards or works of literature. If the learner wants to communicate orally, then I use a range of activities to encourage conversation. If a forthcoming exam demands reading, writing and listening then exam techniques, vocabulary extension and appropriate grammar practice will be offered.

Availability: I am usually available from 11 - 7, Monday - Saturday, but there is some occasional variation within these hours. Just ask!

Experience: I have a degree in French and Spanish and a Certificate of Primary Education. I have been teaching French and Spanish since 1985, in primary and secondary schools, both state and private, in colleges of Further Education, for Adult Education and privately, coaching for GCSE and A level and for recreational purposes.
