I started to learn the piano when I was about 6 or 7 years old and I am a lot older now.
I tried my hand at violin lessons too.
I managed to get to grade 4 on the violin and then I asked myself which instrument do I really prefer?
Guess what? It was the piano. Why the piano? Well it is such a versatile instrument and can be used to compose music and to write songs and you can do much more with this instrument than many others.
So I went for lessons with a really nice teacher called Mrs Wordsworth who encouraged me in the early stages and then moved to another teacher who was much more experienced. She had all the letters after her name and was very old lady by the name of Mrs Sheppard. After a number of years I went in for my grade 7 and passed it (on the way doing all the grades in between too).
We didn`t have YouTube then so it was more difficult in some respects.
However after going down the classical route and passing my Grade 8 I started to play other styles of music. I have played in bands and I have composed music mainly for my own enjoyment and also collaborated on a few tunes too.
So I thought the next best thing to do would be to turn my hobby into a small business where I can teach mainly younger people to gain skills which will help them in their development. Music is great for the mind and it makes you feel positive and develops your confidence. If you can play a tune and play to others too then this can be very uplifting. So why not give me a try and ill see if I can help you on your journey.
Due to the current pandemic I am offering Online lessons via Zoom or Skype and will give you my fullest attention during the lesson. What have you got to lose? Nothing and everything to gain.
