I am classroom teacher of Computer Science with over 25 years of experience. I am also an IT manager and software developer.

I Teach across all levels - Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level. I also have experience of developing applications in a variety of platforms using Javascri pt, VB, Java, Python and Php.

I am also versed in standard business applications including databases, spreadsheets, and basic accounting software. Applications used and taught include Access, Excel and Sage.

Experience: Over twenty years experience in teaching and managing a Computing Science curriculum across many schools, this includes Key Stage 3, GCSE, ECDL and CiDa.

I have also been a personal tutor for over twenty years, seeing students through Key Stage 3, GCSE and A level. I have delivered general pastoral support, study skills sessions, personal development, higher education advise, general studies and ad-hoc curriculum content.

Application Development

Over the last few years I have produced several admin systems.

Accounting / Payroll / Support
Experience in weekly payroll, invoicing and payments, finance control and forecasting using Sage Accounts/ Payroll. I have also maintained and installed software, network and hardware systems. Also helped prepare and present final year accounts.


WEB Development:
I have been involved in the development of Web applications. Development tools used:
• Javascri pt, JQuery and HTML 5 – for client side code. Java
• Server Side scri pting - ASP, PHP, MySQL, XML, Windows Server 2016 - for development of database driven sites
• Mobile Technologies – currently working on Android apps using Java and the Eclipse IDE with plugins.


Development Programming experience includes:
• Microsoft Office - Access + VBA coding - from implementation to the design of relational databases. Have developed database solutions for various applications. Excel - constructing advanced applications to meet business solutions. PowerPoint for presentations. Word – Have an advanced knowledge of all features and I have created interactive documents for use in the classroom.
• Programming languages – PHP, JAVA, PASCAL/Delphi, LISP, Action scri pting, Javascri pt, ASP, Visual Basic and C. Teach Java as part of A level/ GCSE Computing, covering both the theory and practical side of programming concepts. Used VBA to develop internal applications. An understanding of Visual Basic/ Java and the Object Oriented paradigm.
• Multimedia/Graphics: Dreamweaver, Flash, Photoshop, Premier Pro, Serif Suite - used in the production of student software learning packages, web base admin systems and the IT curriculum.
• Database design and construction – normalized relational databases, SQL DDL/ DML
