I have been teaching A-level Physics for the last three years and my students can rely on my lessons being engaging, well researched and closely tied to the exam curriculum.

I am passionate about Physics: the effects it has on our everyday lives and the mysteries of the Universe. My favourite topic to teach is Space as I find it fascinating.

I have high expectations for myself and my students: regular practice, attention to detail and commitment to independent study is essential for students to achieve highly in a challenging subject.

My background is in Engineering: I have a Masters Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Bath and I worked as an Engineering Officer in the Royal Air Force for 6 years. I completed my teaching qualification at the University of Bristol through Teach First.

My teaching style encourages students to draw links between key ideas, always returning to the fundamental concepts in order to develop an understanding of the theory, rather than learning by rote.

I check understanding by having students try exam-style questions every lesson. I believe that encouraging students to learn from their own mistakes enables them to learn more quickly.

Regular tests (usually as homework) enable me and the student to see the progress they have made and can inform the content of future lessons.

I believe that everyone learns differently and tutoring enables me to get to know the needs of the learner and ensure that I deliver lessons that are tailored to their needs.
