Information about Anthony

I used to dream of teaching maths when I was in school but my mother, teaching mathematics at the time, discouraged me due to the pressures that full time teachers face.

I remained focused on teaching but, instead of mathematics, studied physiology, biomechanics, injury prevention and have since had a twelve year career in rehabilitation training.

In 2015 I decided that I would go to university and study something that I found more challenging. I enrolled at Southampton University and sat a degree in philosophy. I focused on the philosophy of language, logic and, ultimately, mathematics. My dissertation was well received and was a joy to write.

In the years following my degree I have often spoken to my mother and partner (who both now make a living teaching and tutoring, A-Level and 11+ respectively) about tutoring. They both have consulted with me on mathematical problems and have both recommended that I help others.

The result of all of this is that I am here, available to assist secondary school students (and more able year 6 students) in their studies of mathematics.

I work from home and am able to work via video conferencing software (Skype being preferable).

I look forward to hearing from you.

Experience: As a mathematics tutor I admit to having very little direct experience.

My experience educating however is well established over a 12 year career teaching both adults and children how to improve their athletic performance and better understand the complexities of their mind-body interactions.

My mother, a postgraduate mathematician teaching at a reputable all-girls prep school, and my partner, successfully tutoring children for the 11+ exams have both urged me to take this up as more than a hobby.

They believe that I am suited to this work and I am, as an enthusiastic mathematician, keen to develop as a tutor.
