Holly

I am a very experienced tutor based in Central London. My enthusiasm and vibrant lessons make me an ideal choice for younger children wanting to excel in school. I specialise in the 4+ and 11+ entrance exam and am passionate about improving children`s English skills. I am also a specialist in helping young children learn English as a language- I use song, rhymes and activities to help build vocabulary, clarity and confidence. I also have a lower rate of £40 for under 5s.


I like to engage children through fun and vibrant lessons. I tailor my lessons according to my pupils and customise games to make lessons more exciting. I like children to enjoy my lessons (almost as if the learning is disguised!) and use visual guides and physical props to help children access the learning. At first I use practise papers as diagnostics and then delve into particular topics that are in need of improvement. My lessons improve pupils` self confidence and self esteem.

Availability: After a fully booked 18 months, I will have slots opening up in September! I am available for summer lessons from July and I now have day time availability perfect for 4+ prep. I am very happy to be flexible. Please just get in contact :) I

Experience: I have over 10 years experience teaching within schools. I began as a private violin tutor at the age of 16, and worked within schools running workshops in Drama whilst at university. After graduating, I worked full time in schools across London gaining knowledge in many different systems and approaches and have taught in subjects across the field including English, Maths, Drama and Music. My experience in Drama makes me a very effective communicator, especially with younger children wanting an exciting lesson to keep them focussed and active.

Over the past year alone, my pupils have made huge improvements. I have an entrance exam pupil who has gone up two literacy levels in just one term. After a year of tutoring, she has now been offered a place at the incredibly prestigious school- Alleyns. Both the family and I are very proud! I have also had a pupil who spoke little to no English this time last year, who has now just got into the prestigious Garden House School in Sloane Square.

I have a valid DBS and many references.
