Information about Lulu
Good Day,
I currently work in industry but over recent years have tutored students for both 11+ style examinations (grammar and independent school entrance exams) and GCSE Maths, Physics and Chemistry.
I enjoy helping students realise their potential by opening their eyes to the meaning behind the work. My technique involves helping students build confidence in the exam environment, and my explanations will put them in good stead for taking the subject beyond the examination. I specialise in Mathematics and having taken Further Mathematics at A2 level, and completing an engineering degree, I enjoy sharing my knowledge and explaining concisely the methods not covered in the classroom.
Please feel free to enquire for more information.
Best wishes,
Lulu
Availability: Available evenings (past 5 pm) Mon-Fri (except Weds) and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have had intermittent experience teaching due to my change in location but have seen one of my tutees achieve the second highest rank in Entrance Exam Mathematics after a request specifically for Maths tuition. She went on to obtain a scholarship (for a prestigious girls school in Crosby) despite not having been to the preparatory school.
I have taught 5 students GCSE Mathematics in addition to Physics and Chemistry for 2 of the students.
I work as a design engineer Monday to Friday and am involved in promotion of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics) subjects in schools in the North West as part of my company. I have a passion to help younger students realise their potential, especially those who struggle with confidence and are hindering their own skills.
I have A Level Maths, Physics and Chemistry all at Grade A and achieved a 2:1 result in Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester. I give the work context for those students who feel frustrated with their learning.
