I am a highly committed and motivated teacher who believes in helping my students to achieve their potential. I do this by identifying students` own unique learning style and nurturing this to enable them to grasp, in particular, the theoretical aspects of Sociology.

I am Masters qualified with a post 16 PGCE. I am a subject specialist and have over 13 years Sociology teaching experience at GCSE and A-Level, with excellent student results. I have experience of teaching in both school sixth forms and in further education colleges.

I am often told by my students that I am quite laid back and able to communicate quite complex themes simply with a passion and enthusiasm for the subject which is infectious!

Availability: I am available after work in the early evenings and can do weekends depending on student needs.

Experience: I am a fully qualified Sociology teacher with over 14 years teaching experience in secondary school sixth forms and in 2 outstanding further education colleges. I have experience as Head of GCSE Sociology and also as the main teacher for A-level. I am currently Head of Sociology in an independent school and also Head of Sixth Form.

I am also an experienced examiner for AQA which has enabled me to understand exam technique and how students can achieve higher grades. I have a proven successful track record in assisting my students to achieve high grades (A*A/Bs) and have done this via working on revision techniques and producing worksheets/aids to reinforce learning. Students have often commented on the confidence that they gained from the sessions which helped with in-class performance but also in approaching homework tasks and assessments.
