Information about Jasmine
[Skype/Zoom lessons offered - any time, any day]
Hello! I`m Jasmine, a 24 year old graduate of the University of Cambridge (first class honours) where I studied Philosophy (BA). I am passionate about philosophy and have used my spare time to teach it to students at school, and I would love to continue to share this passion with students by encouraging them to think beyond the exam board and hopefully enjoy learning! I also love reading and writing in my spare time, and can also offer help with English Literature.
I studied English Literature, Biology and Religious Studies at A Level and received A*A*A. I also received 9A*s and 1A in my GCSEs. I believe the main factor for exam success is having excellent teachers and academic support. My teachers instilled a genuine love of the subject in me, by encouraging me and finding interesting, creative ways to present information. I believe this is the best way to motivate pupils.
I currently work as a Content Editor for a media and events company, but have a background in academic publishing and copyediting. I`m very interested in reading, writing and travelling and my favourite things to do include attending gigs and festivals!
Availability: I am available pretty much any weekday, flexible on hours too (I`m currently on furlough so am not working). Just let me know what works best for you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Have informally tutored friends and family members, helping with essays and personal statements, mostly copyediting and proofreading.
Volunteered at St. Luke`s primary school in Cambridgeshire, helping students with homework and general studies (KS3 and KS4 level mainly, a variety of different subjects).
Independently set up a Junior School Philosophy Club for students aged 11-13 in my spare time, using my lunch break to teach students about philosophy and getting them to engage in exercises that I`d devised.
My job in academic publishing has equipped me with excellent copyediting and proofreading skills, and meticulous spelling and grammar.
