Information about Clare
Hi,
My name is Clare I am currently a primary school teacher. I am kind, caring, reliable and bubbly and would love to help more children improve and develop themselves.
Would your childs education improve through increased confidence?
Does your child need a boost to help pass KS1 or KS2 sats?
Would your child benefit from additional phonics lessons in preparation for the phonics check?
Are you looking to encourage your child to reach their full potential?
If so, you are looking in the right place!
As a school teacher, I often see childrens full potential being prohibited due to lack of confidence. Tutoring is a great way to build childrens confidence on a 1:1 basis where I can plan specifically to meet the needs of each individual. Like all good teachers, my style of teaching is not set and is adapted based on who I am working with, what I am teaching and the age of the child.
I thoroughly enjoy working alongside children and improving their confidence across a range of subjects. I have taught a variety of different year groups from Year 1 to Year 6.
My favourite subjects include maths, literacy, science, drama and PE however, I am happy to assist with any subject.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions. I look forward to hearing from you and helping your child to improve and develop themselves both academically and as individuals.
Availability: I am available afternoons and evenings as well as weekends.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I achieved 13 GCSEs all above a C. I then went on to get an A in health and social care (A-level) as well as a B in psychology and a C in English Lit. Further to this, I have achieved a 2:1 in my education studies degree, I then spent another year completing my PGCE to enable me to become a teacher. I have been teaching now for 4 years. Prior to teaching, I worked a member of Thames Valley Police as well as working in retail.
I also have a lot of experience working with children who have Special Educational Needs.
DBS Check: Yes

Clare is doing a wonderful job of making my daughter Ruby feel confident and capable when it comes to maths. I would even say that Ruby is beginning to enjoy some elements of maths, which I would have never dreamt possible - and that is most definitely thanks to Clare. Clare is great at making things fun and simple. She somehow manages to hold Ruby`s attention throughout the whole of each lesson. I am very thankful that we have found her!

Clare instantly put my daughter at ease and as a result she felt confident and happy throughout the session. She`s been feeling insecure about English as a result of lockdown, panicking before starting and second guessing the work she produces. However she was flying with Clare`s support, creating a poem, doing a piece of comprehension and also gramma!

Clare is highly organised and super friendly. In the first few weeks of tutoring our 7 year old son, she has made a great connection with him and hes responding really well to her style of teaching and the activities she is setting. During the pandemic, we have found the tuition particularly helpful to know that he is being taught to the level and standard of work he would be covering in school in Year 2 and going into year 3. The feedback after each class has also been really valuable so we know what to focus on to help in the run up to the next lesson. Overall, we are really pleased and feel our son is benefiting in both confidence and ability.
