Laura

My name is Laura and I am a Secondary Biology/Science teacher based in the North East.As an individual I am very hard working and reliable. I enjoy teaching very much and like to make my lessons quite relaxed, informal but effective.

Availability: I am happy to work around clients. The best times for me are around 6.00pm onwards most weekdays apart from Wednesday.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have been teaching for 5years and in that time I have built up a number of resources and techniques to ensure my students progress in their studies. I currently teach from year 7 to year 13. I teach all sciences to year 7 and year 8. I then teach the AQA Trilogy GCSE course to years 9, 10 and 11. I have worked at the same school since graduating and have gained Assistant Head of Year responsibilities over the last two years.

I am flexible in my tutoring so I am happy to work around clients. I would say my tutoring style reflects that also, I am happy to work on any topic requested. I can provide powerpoints for the topics requested, exam questions, personalised activities and workbook tasks as part of my sessions. I also have a bank of resources such as card sorts and worksheets that can be used when required. I aim to leave tutees with a bank of materials that can be used for revision between sessions and at a later date.
