Online Tutoring: German or Russian

My lessons are usually shaped around listening content in videos in order to expose students to authentic language from day one. This includes focussing closely on songs/news reels/target language bloggers/tv shows in order to analyse the sentence structure, copy vocab and train the ear to recognise authentic speakers. I also use websites like Quizlet and Quizizz to bring variety to lessons.

I try to generally avoid lecture style lessons, as I find students lose interest and don`t focus enough on speaking and understanding. The best approach is to expose yourself to your target language and not be afraid of making mistakes or not understanding everything! We learn through mistakes and through content that is interesting to us individually.

Equally, if you are preparing for exams, we can focus more on past papers and exam technique.

Creating worksheets and etymology lists for a student of Russian - 2 years
