Hello, my name is Stephanie and I am a fully qualified English teacher with over 7 years of experience teaching secondary English. I specialise in KS3 and GCSE English Language and Literature, helping students build confidence in reading, writing, and critical analysis.

I am currently working as a Literacy Coordinator at a British international school in Dubai, where I lead whole-school literacy initiatives and support students in developing strong reading and writing skills across the curriculum.

My teaching approach is supportive, structured, and tailored to each student. I focus on helping students develop clear essay writing, strong analytical skills, and effective exam techniques, ensuring they feel confident and well prepared for their GCSE exams.

I am passionate about creating engaging lessons that not only improve results but also help students develop a genuine confidence in English and a love of reading.

Experience: I have extensive experience teaching KS3 and KS4 English Language and English Literature, working with a range of exam boards and supporting students of different abilities to achieve strong results. Working as:

1. Literacy Coordinator & English Teacher: Lead whole-school literacy strategy, promote reading and writing across departments, and deliver engaging English lessons at KS3 and KS4.

2. Second in Charge, English Department: Supported the Head of Department with curriculum development, monitored student progress, and mentored new teachers.

3. English & A Level Media Teacher: Planned and delivered lessons aligned with exam board specifications and supported students through coursework and exam preparation.

I have experience helping students:

Over the past seven years, I have also marked GCSE examinations for AQA. This enabled me to fully understand what the exam board is looking for in the responses. Similarly I have experience in KS3, KS4 and KS5 English Literature and Language. Exam boards: AQA, EDEXCEL and Eduqas.

I have supported many students in improving their confidence and achieving strong GCSE results in English. Through targeted support, students often see significant improvements in:
