Alex

Ex-professional teacher who left the school system partly due to not being able to support an nurture young adults in the way they deserved. I now have a job which allows me more free time but I am still passionate about helping young learners to achieve their full potential and break down confidence issues: to me, I feel confidence and enjoyment of a subject goes hand-in-hand with the ability to achieve. I myself felt I `couldn`t do` Maths until I was 29 and trained to be a teacher! I have yet to come across a learner who `can`t` do something, even though many of them feel like this. I have taught in Primary, Secondary and FE College. I have an approachable nature, put the students in the driving seat and treat young adults in the way that I would want to be treated. I believe in engaging, hands-on lessons and activities to strengthen `basic` knowledge.

Experience: I was a teacher for over seven years and worked in a wife variety of schools, including Primary, Secondary and FE College. During my time in both Secondary and FE College, I have also worked with specific SEN students as whole classes. I was also a full-time tutor for a year and have also created and taught weekly group sessions for home-schooled students. I have a brilliant track record and have helped many children to either get to where they should be or to push them (supportively) to be the very best that they can be.
