Experience: I volunteer at a local Museum dedicated to the conservation of home computing where we host a weekly programming club. My work here has allowed me to teach pure maths skills to a small group of students at the programming club. Explaining complex ideas and inspiring them to understand the mathematics behind programming is very rewarding. Some of the children have learning difficulties (mild ASD/ADHD) so I am able to work with the student and their parent in coming up with some learning strategies.
My job as the student lab technician involves me promoting the sciences to a younger audience; working to inspire them to want to study science at a higher level. I find my role extremely rewarding as it enables me to motivate students who lack confidence in their scientific and mathematical ability.
