My name is Maria, I am a Spanish national and passionate about teaching languages. I teach Spanish and Latin and I have a great sense of fun and a contagious enthusiasm for my subjects which I hope to pass onto you. What do I offer?

1.Spanish

I offer comprehensive Spanish courses as well as private Spanish language lessons to anybody who wishes to learn the language and the culture of the Spanish-speaking countries. My bespoke courses cover all proficiency levels, from complete beginner level up to advanced.

In addition to my Spanish courses and private Spanish language lessons I offer a wide range of more specific courses and tuition such as courses and one-to-one tuition to prepare children for their GCSE and AS and A2 exam, one-to-one tuition for 13+ Common Entrance, courses to obtain the DELE Spanish official exams (Diploma in Spanish as a Foreign Language), courses for professionals, conversation courses, Spanish for children.

2. Latin

As well as Spanish, I specialize in teaching Latin and Ancient Greek. Mainly, I teach Latin and Greek in preparation for 13+ Common Entrance Examinations, GCSE and A-level. Fostering an interest in the Greeks and Romans is one thing but navigating through the grammar, vocabulary and syntax can be a headache without some support and guidance. If there are gaps in knowledge for whatever reason, I ensure that any gaps are filled and children reach their level of potential.

Courses and private lessons are conveniently delivered in the comfort of your own home or at your work premises to fit around your busy schedule, whether you prefer lunch-time, evening, or early morning sessions.

Experience: I graduated in Classical Philology at University of Malaga, Spain, completed my Masters Degree in Secondary, Professional and Further Education and Language Teaching in Madrid, Spain, and trained specifically to teach Spanish as a Foreign Language at The Instituto Cervantes and University of Roehampton in London. I am also an accredited DELE examiner and an expert tutor having taught in the UK and abroad with great success for over 4 years.

By Spanish language teaching, my expertise lends itself to enabling individuals to communicate and express their ideas and thoughts in the target language through understanding, speaking, reading and writing, and also to equipping them to handle any situation in the future as individuals and social agents by developing a range of competences, both general and in particular communicative language competences.

In preparing individuals for DELE and children for school examinations, IGCSE/GCSE, A-Level and 13+ Common Entrance, I exude energy and passion every step of the way. I tailor my style to suit a full range of ability, promoting an effective learning environment for each individual.

I do everything possible to maximize potential in my tutees.

Graduated in Classical Philology, I have found that my own love for the Classical World had a dramatic impact on my literacy and general language awareness. I am keen to stimulate lasting pupil curiosity and interest in the Classics, increase word-power for my students and give them the basis for language learning.
