Information about Sumit
Hello, I`m Sumit and I live in Bedford. In light of the current circumstances, I will only be offering online tuition.
I have recently completed my undergraduate studies and I will be starting a graduate role with one of the `Big Four` accounting firms in January 2021.
I can offer tuition for KS3 and GCSE-level Maths and help students develop strong examination technique so that they can secure the `higher grades`.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: I have been tutoring Maths for 3+ years through my time at sixth form and university. I am predicted to graduate with 1st class degree in BSc Accounting for Management, from Aston University (Birmingham) in July 2020.
My A-Levels include Maths, Physics and Business.
I strongly believe in motivating students and strive to teach topics areas through personalised/real-life examples so that pupils can relate to and engage with subject material better. My approach to teaching problematic/difficult topics is to ensure my pupils thoroughly understand the fundamental concepts before completing some questions together to reinforce their learning and finally challenging them with higher-level questions to ensure they can apply the concepts in differing scenarios.
My previous job roles include working as a Student Ambassador for Aston University and as a Mentor for the Transformation Trust (an educational charity). Working as an Ambassador for Aston University, I was involved in running many educational/`aim-higher` style events for pre-16 and post-16 school students. As a Mentor on the Junior University Programme, I was responsible for delivering university-style projects and activities to groups of 30 year-10 pupils in challenged secondary schools; to change perceptions about higher education. Through working both of these roles, I have been able to make a real difference to the lives of school students. From raising aspirations of students from disadvantaged backgrounds (relative to attending higher education) and providing them with access to information so that they can make informed decisions about their futures (career tools, alternate pathways, apprenticeships etc.)
