I have been teaching German to adults for more than 19 years. I teach in colleges, at a university and privately at all levels to the European Framework of Languages. I assess students and teach accordingly on a one-to-one or group basis at a reasonable price.
I work at places that require a lot of professional development as a teacher. Due to my experience I have now a vast amount of teaching material and activities, which make my classes effective, varied, fun and interesting. I use visuals, short clips, listenings, grammar presentations and interactive games to help you in your journey of learning. I also offer teaching facilities at home.
Availability: I have a flexible schedule that changes from term to term or sometimes even from week to week. It is best to check with me for your prefered times.
Willing to travel: 3 miles
Experience: Fully qualified with a Cambridge Certificate in the Teaching of German to Adults (CELTA).
Professional Development courses: Working with people with hearing impairment and Communicating with people with speech difficulties.
Teaching German in renowned colleges and universities, in high profile environments such as in Banks and to lawyers in the city, as well as in Government departments and to classes in colleges.

I have been receiving private one-on-one tuition on a weekly basis from Barbara for a couple of months. Barbara is friendly, good-humoured, and professional as well as being very patient, always willing to explain or review concepts as needed and quickly replies to queries I may have between lessons. The lessons are structured and well-paced with new material introduced with review of prior. Along with the verbal tuition Barbara combines the use of coursebooks, digital presentations and audio and video content to vary the lessons and material, and homework and exercises are set between lessons. My German is progressing well and I enjoy and look forward to tuition. I would highly recommend Barbara as a tutor.

We used Barbara to teach members of our company German before a move to Berlin. She was great at understanding what we were looking for and always came well prepared and on time. We would definitely use her again and recommend to others. Brilliant.

Barbara is really knowledgeable and always very well prepared for our lessons, with specifics sets of materials to support my learning goals. As my level of German is advanced, we`ve been covering some very detailed grammar, and Barbara`s explainations have been really clear. She`s also very friendly and helpful - an excellent tutor.
