I am an enthusiastic and dedicated science teacher who can teach all three disciplines to KS3 and KS4. I am applying for this post at your school because the school’s ethos resonates with me and I want to contribute to keep improving the excellent results the school has achieved. I have gained vital experience whilst working as a science teacher at various different secondary schools. I am passionate about science and I want to pass this enthusiasm on to others; I believe the most creative and effective way to achieve this is through teaching. I find science fascinating to teach because it is an ever-expanding field and I am always looking to increase my knowledge. Also, I am currently working on other aspects of teaching such as metacognition and cognitive load. Metacognition has helped me develop my thinking when planning and teaching. Therefore, I am now able think deeply about how my lessons will flow and the parts of the lesson which may create some misunderstanding. The action I have taken towards addressing these misunderstandings is by pre planning differentiated questions which I can ask students at certain points of the lesson.

Throughout my teaching career, I have gained excellent subject knowledge through planning and teaching science lessons. Although my specialism is biology, I have developed my understanding of teaching difficult concepts in physics and chemistry.

My lessons are engaging and motivating for students. This is through incorporating engaging and differentiated tasks throughout my lesson, therefore make the lesson accessible and enjoyable.

Experience: I am a science teacher who has experience of teaching KS3 and KS4 to students of all abilities. I ensure students are provided with the essential knowledge and skills, thus preparing them to achieve above and beyond. I am really enthusiastic about teaching science, and I want instill this passion into the students I teach.
