I am in my early fifties and have been teaching Mathematics all my adult life. I thoroughly enjoy Maths and take great pleasure in inspiring others with greater confidence and a love of the subject. I have travelled widely and have spent many years teaching abroad as well as in the UK.

I have over twenty years experience in teaching Mathematics in schools to a whole range of students from 11 to 19 years of age. I have particular experience in examination work such as GCSE and A level Mathematics and Further Mathematics covering a whole range of modules from Pure to Mechanics and Statistics. More recently I have seven years of experience in tutoring in Scotland, mainly teaching Nat 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Mathematics.

I am able to communicate Maths in a clear, logical and enjoyable way. As one of my past students said, "I thought that your greatest strength was that you made everything seem simple and obvious, and somehow convinced us that it was so. Also your ability to understand at a glance what we were doing wrong, even when (and now I am only talking about myself) we could not understand what we ourselves were doing." I believe that building a student`s confidence and challenging them more and more is key to improvement in the study of Maths.
