Information about Christel
I have been tutoring for fifteen years working mostly from personal recommendations but also with various tutorial agencies. Prior to working as a tutor I had a successful career in the school environment. I enjoy the challenge of working individually with students and also am glad to offer the flexibility of tutoring. I am pleased to say that all my students who took their GCSE English Language and English Literature this year did not get below Grade 8 and in fact most of them achieved a Grade 9 which is very pleasing. .I offer both face to face and on line tutoring. I have an enhanced DBS police check certificate.

Christel is a very adaptive and flexible tutor. My daughter did a rare exam board (WJEC EDUQAS) and Christel`s teaching methods still suited our needs. My daughter continuously received grades 4/5 in english language and literature, and due to Christel`s help she`s achieved A*(english literature) and A (english language) in the recent 2025 GCSE exams. Christel`s approach to every lesson is very organised meaning no time is wasted. Her kindness and patience to explain things repeatedly is also another key element to my daughter`s high grades. Christel also heavily focuses on exam technique, such as setting practice essays as homework and marking them with detailed feedback, this really helped my daughter with timing and structure. Her broad knowledge on poems and novels and the context of the them makes her an excellent and trusted tutor. Overall, thank you for helping my daughter achieve these remarkable grades.

My son studied English Language and Literature with Christel in preparation for his GCSE exams. From the very first lesson, he really enjoyed working with her, and his understanding of the subject improved immediately. He started lessons at the beginning of February, and by the end of March his estimated grades had already increased by two levels in both subjects. By the time the GCSE exams came around, he felt fully prepared and confident. We were very pleased with his exam results, and we are very grateful to Christel for her support and excellent teaching.
