I qualified as an English teacher and worked as a supply teacher in Sheffield whilst I studied for my MA. Since then I have worked in local government as an information manager and commissioner for pre-social services.
I now look after my 3 lovely children (aged 6, 9 and 10) and have the freedom to pursue teaching again. I love 1:1 teaching because I can focus my attention on a student`s learning style and their individual outcomes.

I have a full DBS check.

Experience: I have 4 years` experiences of teaching AQA`s new 9-1 syllabus.

I am currently tutoring 10 students privately (school students and home school), and am working at Southend Roots Hall Stadium teaching learners English GCSE and English and maths functional skills.

I specialise in GCSE English/literature but also have extensive experience in other areas including:

- Functional skills
- Secondary English (all years inc. GCSE)
- A Level Literature
- Primary maths
- Primary English
- Home schooling
- Adult learner studying for QTS status

My students` achievements include:
- gaining grades 6 and 7 in the new 9-1 syllabus
- gaining their target grade C (English language) in GCSE resit 2016
- moving up to top set English
- moving up 2 sets in one jump!
- gaining >100 in year 6 SATs in both English and maths
- students being contacted by their teachers, by phone and email, to praise their improvements
- moving from `emerging` to `secure` in English
- being awarded a certificate for excellent improvement in speaking and listening.
