Sophie

Hello, I`m Sophie. I currently work as a Registered Adult Nurse after completing my MSc in Nursing (awarded a distinction). I have previously completed a PGCE in Primary Education and prior to this a BA Hons in Psychological Studies. I have previously worked in a Nursery teaching children from 6 months to 11 years. During my PGCE I covered all ages within the Primary setting with a specific focus upon Year 2 and Year 5. My strengths lie within Literacy however I am equipped to teach across other areas of the Primary curriculum too. I have a real passion for lifelong learning myself and hope to inspire the pupils I teach. I also ensure anything I teach engages the pupils I interact with by making learning fun. I believe that this approach accelerates progress as they no longer see learning as a chore. I work shifts so I am available around 3 evenings a week but I am happy to work on something that fits for you and your family. In June I will start working 9-5 so will be available most evenings. I`m also incredibly into fitness and particularly enjoyed teaching PE during my teacher training - in my personal time I have ran the London and Edinburgh Marathon. Aside from my experience in Primary Education I have also completed a MSc, which required a large amount of academic writing for which I was awarded a Distinction. This means I am also able to assist with any university projects/essays/dissertations

Availability: Available weekday evenings after 5:30pm

Experience: Previously completed a PGCE in Primary Education.I taught classes in Year 2 and Year 5 but was trained to teach the whole primary curriculum. Also have previous experience working in a nursery and out of school club. Provided private tuition for a number of students for maths and literacy.
