Information about Samuel
I am an Economics graduate from the University of York (graduated 2012 with a 2.1) who also has previous teaching experience having worked in the Boarding House of Prince Alfred College, Adelaide, during my gap year between July 2012-June 2013. Here I was working in the classroom as well as during evening homework supervision, providing academic support to the boarding house community.
Tutoring should provide a student with a more comprehensive and personalised explanation on how to tackle problematic topics, something not always achieved in a classroom environment. I will work through these issues with my students at a pace that is comfortable for them, helping them understand how to then then answer these questions during an exam.
I achieved top marks in my GCSE and A-Level mathematics courses and am still very familiar with the examination process and layout so will be able to provide plenty of tips and advice for any student that I tutor.
I am currently a full-time rower, training with the Leander Club development squad along with tutoring students in the Henley-on-Thames local area. I have been involved with rowing throughout my university years, so can also offer support with time-management and revision skills.
Availability: Afternoons/Evenings of Weekdays and Weekends.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have experience working in a school having spent my gap year with Prince Alfred College, Adelaide, Australia. Here I worked in classrooms, in the boarding house and as a rowing coach.
I am currently tutoring students GCSE maths in Henley-on-Thames and the local area.
