Hi there! I’m Arian, a passionate tutor dedicating my career to helping students succeed in science, drawing on years of experience as both an educator and a researcher.

As a tutor, I specialise in building students’ confidence, preparing them for exams with targeted strategies to boost grades, and delivering lessons that plug knowledge gaps and maximise learning in the time available. My goal is to help each student make measurable progress, feel more secure in their abilities, and achieve results they can be proud of.

I specialise in working with small groups to create a focused and supportive environment, with a limited number of 1:1 places available for those seeking more tailored support.

Before focusing on tutoring full-time, I was a Teacher of Science at United Learning (2020–2022) and a CREST Award Assessor for the British Science Association (2017–2020). These roles gave me invaluable experience working directly with students and recognising their achievements.

In terms of qualifications, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences from Birkbeck, University of London, in 2015, followed by my Postgraduate Diploma in Education and Leadership (PGDE) and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in 2021 and 2022. But my journey in science started well before that.

As a student, I explored fascinating areas of biology through internships at top institutions like Cambridge, UCL, and the University of Münster. From protein crystallography and bioinformatics to cutting-edge research on aging, these experiences shaped my understanding of science and how to make it approachable and exciting for students.

One of my proudest moments was as part of Birkbeck’s very first iGEM team in 2015. We took on a synthetic biology challenge, designed plasmid constructs, and even presented our work in Boston, USA, earning a Bronze award.

I believe in making science relatable and engaging, helping students not only achieve their academic goals but also develop a genuine curiosity for the subject. Whether it’s simplifying complex concepts, preparing for exams, or inspiring a love for science, I’m here to help.

Experience: I have in-depth and up to date experience teaching the AQA Combined Science curriculum virtually, with a strong focus on exam papers and literacy. Your habits and interests will also be taken into consideration to give you the most productive time learning and get you into the practice of managing your own learning style and resources. Some of these include G. Classroom, Microsoft Teams, Oak National Academy, Seneca and Satchel One. Depending on your needs, any number and combination of platforms can be used synergistically to give you a world-class learning experience. This extends to tutoring, feedback and homework management.
