Information about Phil

I have recently retired having taught for many years in a wide range of both independent, and state, schools and colleges. For many years I was examiner for both GCSE (Science) and "A" level Biology and I continue to work for one of the major examination boards.

I tutor "A" level Biology and also "Combined" Science and separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics up to GCSE level. I am very up to date with all the recent changes in both the GCSE and "A" level specifications.

I am passionate about all areas of Science and continue to further my knowledge by both reading, and by following online MOOC courses.

I aim to support students in a manner that will enable them to reach their fullest potential

Availability: I am available almost all of the time. for most students this means evenings and weekends but for students in years 12 & 13 it may also mean during the day.

Willing to travel: Home Only

Experience: Many years as a teacher in both schools & colleges. Posts have included Head of Biology, Head of Science and Senior teacher. Over 30 years experience as an examiner

Phil is very good tutor, my son enjoys going to him as he teaches in such depth that any student can understand and makes the lesson intersting.

Phil comes across as very enthusiastic and this has rubbed off on to my son. He enjoys the sessions and has appreciated the one to one lessons. Phil`s CV is what appealed to us with his experience as an examiner and attitude to the mysteries of exam technique. My son has had a few lessons so far and all is well, he is even looking forward to going on next weeks field trip.
