I have a 1st class physics degree in addition to a PhD in particle physics from the University of Oxford. This makes me well qualified to teach both maths and physics through out secondary school and undergraduate level. I am passionate about my subjects and my students. I particularly enjoy building relationships and working together with students to achieve their potential.


I provide a flexible tutorial program tailored to each individual student. I build strong relationships with my students as I feel they make the best progress when they feel comfortable and relaxed. I have a strong commitment to supporting my students even outside of their tutorial time and make myself available to them via email through out the week aiming to deliver quick responses to any problem that might crop up between lessons.

I offer reduced rates on a sliding scale for anyone who would struggle to afford my normal fee. I never turn down a student due to inability to pay.

Availability: Weekdays daytime. Weekends

Experience: As a tutor I have eight years experience teaching the UK maths and physics syllabus to students across key stages 3, 4 and 5, including full responsibility for lesson planning and teaching for home educated students. I have also taught students other international qualifications at secondary school level including the International Baccalarueat. Additionally I have prepared students for the UK maths and physics Olympiad and Oxbridge interviews and entrance tests (during my time at Oxford I gained significant insight into the application procedure). I am also able to provide general assistance in university applications across a range of institutions. I have a number of years teaching experience at undergraduate level both at Oxford and At Bielefeld University in Germany.

I had a proven track record of significantly increased exam performance (usually across two or three grade boundaries) and inspiring interest and enthusiasm even in initially reluctant or under-confident students.
