Experience: I have been teaching piano privately 6 years including group classes for music theory as a part time job in a music studio. In that time I have prepared many of my students both for the ABRSM and Trinity College exams.
I have worked as a teaching assistant volunteering and paid respectively for the Animate Orchestra curated by Jason Rowland and Trinity Laban, and the Summer School for Young musicians. In these projects I supported the main teachers of the groups by helping the students individually to learn a piece-show them on the piano, or practice ways for it-or accompany them when needed to sing. Furthermore, working in a part time job as a carer for a disabled child, made me particularly flexible with situations where you have to change your method or approach to any student. Therefore, I always try to adjust at someone’s need. When I can, I prefer to use a specific method. For beginners I choose Thompson’s books as I believe they include all the first steps very organised. If it is possible, I try to start teaching notes and the basic things without a book. In some occasions, I’ve noticed that is faster for a child to memorize and start recognizing the notes if she/he doesn’t have to read from a book. That happens because they write the notes more often than they would if they had a book. If that way is successful I try to remain open to choose the pieces I’ll give to the student and help her/him develop their artistic side as early as possible.

Angelina is such a great piano teacher. She made me feel relaxed playing in front of her from the very first lesson. I have seen my playing improve so much already and her years of experience playing piano are invaluable as a teacher.
