Information about Sarah
Hi! I am a very experienced biology teacher who has been teaching in York for the last thirteen years. I have been head of department for eight of those years and have taught across GCSE and A Level. I am kind, patient and good humoured and have worked across a range of abilities and confidence levels within my teaching career. I am a mum of two children and know how important compassion and challenge are in careful measure when helping young people build skills and confidence.
Availability: I work full time in a six day a week school so day times in term time are tricky however Sundays and holidays are available. I may be able to arrange sessions during term time also to fit around my school commitments and those of my tutees - it will be easier to discuss availability and flexibility in person.
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I have tutored many times privately over the years through word of mouth appointments and have enjoyed forming strong positive relationships with my tutees to ensure that they strive to fulfil their potential.

Although Emily enjoyed the tutoring session, she doesn’t think she wants to continue with the online sessions. I think she would prefer face to face, so she is going to leave it for now.

Excellent Biology Tutor - Highly Recommended Sarah is friendly, professional and an excellent tutor. My son is having A Level Biology tuition and he is extremely positive about his lessons so far. He says that Sarah is patient, adapts her teaching style so that he can understand topics that he has been finding challenging and that she provides excellent teaching resources. Sarah also sets homework to check understanding and progress, which is reassuring from a parental perspective. We are very happy and wouldn`t hesitate to recommend Sarah.

My daughter is studying 2 year in 1 A level biology and is wanting to achieve a grade to be offered her first choice university. We went through Tutor Hunt and she has had 2 lessons now with Sarah. Mia couldn’t be happier with both lessons so far and has said how interesting and engaging her lessons are with Sarah. Mia has chose for not to go fortnightly but may find in a few weeks that’s this needs to be weekly. We would really recommend Sarah if you are looking for additional tutoring y ensure your child or you achieve the best grade you can. Thanks again Sarah for everything so far.
