Hi! I have a first class honours degree in Zoology and a PGCE in secondary science (biology). I am a very experienced biology teacher who has been teaching in York for the last nineteen years. I have been head of department for eight of those years and have taught across GCSE and A Level. I am kind, patient and good humoured and have worked across a range of abilities and confidence levels within my teaching career. I am a mum of two children and know how important compassion and challenge are in careful measure when helping young people build skills and confidence.

Availability: I work full time in a six day a week school so day times in term time are tricky however Sundays and holidays are available. I may be able to arrange sessions during term time also to fit around my school commitments and those of my tutees - it will be easier to discuss availability and flexibility in person. Evenings are possible around family commitments.

Experience: I have tutored many times privately over the years through word of mouth appointments and have enjoyed forming strong positive relationships with my tutees to ensure that they strive to fulfil their potential.
