Information about William John
Cambridge PhD and 7 years tutoring experience with a proven track record of boosting student`s grades as well as inciting enthusiasm and enjoyment of the sciences and maths. I am currently studying towards a PhD in Chemical Engineering at the University of Cambridge. I previously I worked as a Marine and Systems Engineer. I have a very dynamic teaching rapport and can adapt to many students learning styles and levels. I very much enjoy teaching my subjects and I find success in building confidence and enthusiasm for subjects that can be viewed as difficult and dry by many students.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: Tutored A-level, GCSE and High School Students both physics and maths for 7 years.
My approach is finding weaknesses in the students fundamental understanding at their level and building upon this. Many times students move through the syllabus at a pace that does not allow the development of fundamental understanding. Having the extra lessons is a great opportunity to develop these skills that help make the lessons received at school/college more understandable and efficient for learning. I also have a good knowledge of many engineering/science disciplines and enjoy giving a different slant on the subject material to give a context that instills interest and enthusiasm (and sometimes insightful careers advice outside of the school!)
