Adrian (Tutor in Ruislip)
Information about Adrian
I graduated in Applied Maths and Physics at UC Swansea in 1965 then did a postgraduate Diploma in Education. I taught Maths and Physics to A Level GCE in a local comprehensive school and then left teaching after 2 years, for a career in IT. The last 10 years I have spent as a Kumon Instructor providing instruction in Maths and English to up to 90 children aged from 4 to 18.
I retired from Kumon in September 2014 and have been active in coaching a small number of students in Maths at various levels including GCSE and `A`Level, in order to boost my pension and keep my brain active. I am already coaching 2 Year 9 students for GCSE Maths and 2 Year 12 students for A Level Maths. I would like one or two more of the same.
Although I won`t offer a free lesson to start, I will have a meeting with the student and parent(s) before tuition starts, in order to determine the student`s needs and to plan the first and subsequent sessions. This meeting also serves to break the ice with the student to dispel any anxieties they may have about the tutorial sessions. I have found this to be a good way to start off with a new student. There is of course no charge for this meeting.
Availability: I am retired but I prefer some days to others - pretty flexible and respectful of individual needs.

Tutors Response :
Thank you Vicky for that kind and generous report. Young Katie is a good student who is always attentive and keen to learn. She is a pleasure to deal with. We discussed what to do after Monday because she would be in the school holidays the week after. Do you want her to take a break? Please let me know.
best regards, Adrian
Adrian is a very pleasant gentleman and although he has only been tutoring my son for a few weeks his grades have already improved. My son is very at ease and finds Adrian very approachable.
We wanted to find a tutor to help our son with his final preparations for the imminent Maths GCSE and to continue once he starts A level. Adrian seems to be an excellent Tutor and we are entirely happy with the service he has provided.
A very patient and kind teacher to my daughter who learns so much in lessons and the progress in her learning is very evident.
