Have retired from Maths lecturing at Hackney College in London I still keep in touch with the latest syllabus changes and I now tutor part-time in students` homes.

HOWEVER THIS ACADEMIC YEAR DUE TO COVID I AM ONLY TUTORING ONLINE USING ZOOM(for students outside Hull wanting help for more than one year I’d be open to continue online help beyond this year)

I enjoy Maths and like to pass on that enjoyment to my students if possible through building up confidence and understanding. From time to time if appropriate I might include a Maths puzzle or investigation or work related to the student`s interests e.g. football related.
I believe learning Maths can be a lot more interesting than the passive approach from textbooks experienced in some school classes.
I help students develop good study skills and a positive mindset.
Past students have usually found my tuition helpful and have had good exam success.
My fee is £20ph for primary level,£22ph pre-GCSE Maths£25ph for GCSE and £28phfor A level and Further Maths(for online tutoring my rate is £25 ph for A level and above and £20 ph otherwise)

Experience: 30+ years experience teaching in colleges and 1 to 1 from primary level Maths work through GCSE/IGCSE to AS/A level Maths and Further Maths(Pure,Mechanics and Statistics)
Have assisted with basic Maths and English in a Kumon Centre(with children aged 6-14) also helping year 5/6 children with SATS Maths as well as younger children with their primary school Maths.
I have taught from basic Numeracy to GCSE level and a A level in colleges. At one time I led a college A level team.
I have helped adults with basic Numeracy, at GCSE level and for QTS Numeracy and Nursing tests.
