Information about Jennifer

I am a qualified,experienced, friendly and professional Biology teacher offering private tuition in KS3 Science and Biology at A Level and GCSE. Having taught for 10 years with a specialism in A Level Biology I began my tutoring business last year, working with both GCSE and A Level students. I am fully up to date with the new exam specifications and am able to offer full tuition for any home educated students.

Sessions are tailored to the individual needs and ability of the students, with a variety of methods used to review topics, build confidence and to support and encourage the student`s independent revision.

I can also offer small group sessions for home education groups or groups of friends at a discounted rate per pupil.

One off or regular sessions available, with no commitment.

Tutoring can take place either in my own home, or the student`s home. Please note that to cover travel costs, a fee of £2.50 per session will apply for distances over 5 miles, and £5 for distances over 10 miles.

Reviews from previous tutees are available on request.

Availability: Monday-Friday after school and evening, Saturday mornings, and weekday daytime for any home educated or college students.

Experience: I have taught science for 10 years in a variety of contexts, including a Further Education college, independent girls` school and a selective state sixth form, with a specialism in A Level Biology. I have been tutoring since Sept 18. .

I was an A level student in my final year and my biggest concern had been exam technique and overall confidence in answering questions as effectively as possible. With Jennifer, I was able to go over the topics I struggled with from class and understand them better and also work on their exam questions which significantly improved my technique as I learnt to look out for what examiners wanted. While my year was unfortunately unable to go ahead with exams as planned the sessions certainly helped to improve my overall performance in class including controlled end of topic tests I previously struggled a bit with. Overall a very positive experience and I would certainly recommend.

Jennifer has been an excellent A Level Biology tutor for my daughter.She is very friendly,reliable and knowledgeable. My daughter`s confidence increased greatly after just a few sessionsJennifer has gone the extra mile providing both a greater understanding of subject content and help with answering exam style questions.I would recommend her unreservedly.
