I owned a chain of leisurewear clothing shops for some years with 150 employees. I was a magistrate for 20 years. This included participation in the `Magistrates in the Community` project which included talks in schools and tutoring pupils in Mock Trial competitions. I have always retained a passionate interest in history and I believe that that I possess the skills to make any historical period or subject more comprehensible and to excite the imagination of those I tutor.

Availability: I am available any day, both during the day and in the evening, and on weekends.

Experience: I have a degree in History from Oxford University. I studied at Merton College under two of the most highly regarded history tutors in Oxford - Dr Roger Highfield and Dr John Roberts. I have retained my interest in history from reading, visiting museums and exhibitions, attending lectures, subscribing to history magazines, watching innumerable TV history programmes and travelling to many historic sites in Britain, Europe and around the world. I am a member of English Heritage & the National Trust.
