Hello.

My name is Matt, and I am an English tutor with an MA in Creative Writing.

I have various years’ experience of one-to-one and group tutoring in English, Creative Writing, and Architecture.

My main area of interest is English and I have an MA Distinction in Creative Writing from the University of Roehampton. I have tutored and mentored a diverse selection of students and writers both in group lessons and one-to-one, face-to-face and online.

I am seeking English students at all levels to share my passion for storytelling and to cultivate a deeper interest in writing and reading. My goal is to keep you engaged and stimulated, which will enable you to build confidence when assessing and analysing written texts. I can help you progress your studies to achieve your goals by providing guidance on writing essays and exam techniques; while we focus on the correct use of grammar and punctuation to make your writing clearer and stronger.

I am eager to get to know you and understand your specific needs, so we can create a personalised lesson and revision plan for your success.

I have an Enhanced DBS, work flexible hours, and my current timetable has convenient availability.

I became an architect after studying at the University of Brighton and ran my own architectural practice for fourteen years. During that time, I also worked with the RIBA teaching architecture students.

Availability: I am available weekday afternoon and evenings, and mornings at the weekend.

Experience: I have an MA in Creative Writing, have written over a hundred flash fiction and poetry pieces, and completed three fiction novels.

I have provided constructive critique and mentoring for writers with differing abilities for ten years.
