Having achieved a first-class degree in Mathematics, I am currently a Head of Maths and have been teaching for over 7 years. I have delivered outcomes in the top 1% nationally. I ensure my pupils are mathematically fluent, able to reason and justify their approaches and solve problems in familiar and unfamiliar content in readiness for GCSE Maths. I am currently teaching the Pearson Edexcel examination board.
Teaching is adapted to maintain a rapid pace of knowledge. I model examples step by step and refer to success criteria. I ensure guided practice, i.e. I do, we do, and you do, so pupils have mastered key concepts. I engage pupils through questioning, regularly checking for understanding, and addressing misconceptions. In addition, I offer bespoke feedback and fix the gaps quickly to enable pupils to improve their work.
